Moreover, you do not have to worry about any UV-stabilizing chemicals coming off to contaminate your compost. We learned from Gale-Pacific, the maker of Coolaroo, that all UV stabilizing chemicals are added during the extrusion process, making them an embedded component. After combining it is technically impossible to separate the chemicals from the HDPE. This so different from other cheaper UV-resistant fabrics where the resistants are just coated on.
